I have finished Wapack several times (live only 4 miles from the trail) and have attempted ZG twice. Once in 2007 (I think), the heat got to me and I quit at 25 miles, then in the shortened snow year Deb and I were stopped at 25 miles.
Best of luck to Emily this weekend at MMT100!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186839360851415836.post-12451823879946833262016-05-13T06:56:06.353-07:002016-05-13T06:56:06.353-07:00Try Manitou's Revenge for your next comparison...Try Manitou's Revenge for your next comparison. As an east coaster who has run Zane and most of the Manitou's course, my money is on Manitou's. Also, I'm convinced someone can get pretty close to 8-hours at Wapack (if not a little under). Would take a ton of focus and a bit of reckless abandon, especially if it's at all wet!Josh Katzmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15364444315420035343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186839360851415836.post-40826721242545447892016-05-12T14:11:33.331-07:002016-05-12T14:11:33.331-07:00Nice write up on the Wapack, Ian. This year the temps were in our favor, despite the humidity, and you were saved the joy of black flies, but I know I found myself changing my mind on where to step at the very last splinter of a second the entire course. But that didn't hold back Thomas Thompson from posting a blistering course record of 3:19 on the one-way! Thanks for honoring our small, humble, abusive course with your well written report and it sounds like I need to check out Zane Grey!jenshuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06524564495445495157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186839360851415836.post-79081088751096460312016-05-12T11:40:33.285-07:002016-05-12T11:40:33.285-07:00Ian! great to run with you out there last weekend ...Ian! great to run with you out there last weekend and sorry we had to subject you to a "nothing to see here" pit stop at mile 10:) You're recap is inspiring.

andy marxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12443907628180135977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186839360851415836.post-52413699847777720732016-05-12T08:26:12.911-07:002016-05-12T08:26:12.911-07:00Tough call. You know, there are some questions that are more fun to consider and debate than to really try to answer ...Andyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03776778133918186707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186839360851415836.post-49830181824746182642016-05-11T20:36:54.983-07:002016-05-11T20:36:54.983-07:00Fantastic post.
